In the textile laboratory of CTL GmbH in Bielefeld we offer comprehensive physical and chemical test methods that go far beyond standard tests. CTL offers a broad spectrum of textile-specific test methods, aligned to the respective material properties and customer requirements:

Physical–mechanical tests:
  • tensile and tear strength
  • abrasion resistance (Martindale test)
  • pilling and knot formation
  • colour fastness to light, sweat, rubbing, water
  • dimensional stability (washing behaviour, shrinkage behaviour)
  • heat resistance and weather resistance
  • flammability (e.g. according to DIN EN 1103 or ISO 6940)
Chemical analyses and special investigations:
  • fibre analysis and blend ratios
  • detection of azo dyes, pesticides, formaldehyde, heavy metals, PAHs and plasticisers
  • testing according to Oeko-Tex standards, REACH and POP regulation
  • migration tests for products with skin contact or use by children

This combination of testing disciplines is a decisive advantage over many regional laboratories that can cover only a single sub-area.
